Job Description
Hotel Manager Mandarin Oriental Boston US - MA - Boston Position Summary SCOPE AND RANGE Responsible for the overall planning, organizing and coordinating of the Rooms Division consisting of Front Office, Concierge, Guest Recognition, PBX, Housekeeping, Valet laundry, Valet parking, as well as IT, Engineering, Food & Beverage, consisting of Restaurant, Bar, Banquets, In- Room Dining, as well as Residences, and to provide leadership and direction whilst maximising revenue opportunities and maintaining guest satisfaction levels to the standard of the hotel and of the company at all times. DUTIES - Responsible for the proper, efficient and profitable functioning of the Day to Day operations of the departments - Maximize room revenue and occupancy by effectively controlling rates and availability - Clarify duties and responsibilities of departments and ensure that work flows are in a logical and good order - Ensure proper staffing at all times - Ensure that Legendary Quality Standards, policies and rules are properly understood and followed through - Prepare annual departmental operating budgets as well as capital expenditure and manpower budgets - Control and analyse departmental costs to ensure performance is within budget - Perform all aspects of personnel and training functions, including hiring, performance appraisals, counselling, coaching, training, disciplinary action, etc. - Ensure and maintain a very high standard of personal hygiene, behaviour and grooming standards of staff - Attend daily morning briefings and any other Management meetings as scheduled - Analyse rate discrepancy reports to ensure room revenue control - Handle all guest complaints and comments relating to the department tactfully - Ensure that the Legendary Service Training manual is continuously updated, maintained and used effectively - Cooperate and coordinate teamwork with other departments Required Skills & Experience Previous experience as a Hotel manager in a luxury hotel required.
