Job Description Universal Orlando Resort -- home of the world's two most amazing theme parks, Universal Studios and Universal's Islands of Adventure, the extraordinary Universal CityWalk entertainment center and our three fabulous hotels, PORTOFINO BAY, HARD ROCK and ROYAL PACIFIC -- is currently seeking the following professional to join our team.
Director, International Sales
Responsible for strategic planning and the development of an overall sales plan and budget for International Sales channels.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategy relative to sales and marketing efforts to drive Universal Orlando visitors from Canada. Manage and direct Canada-based sales team. Manage sales relationships with CAA, travel agencies, Universal Vacations, wholesalers, and tour operators. Coordinate with Universal Orlando marketing team in the planning and execution of PR, promotion, co-op advertising and other marketing strategies in Canada.
Develop and implement strategy relative to sales and marketing efforts to drive Universal Orlando visitors from South America. Manage and direct sales team targeted to the growth of sales from Latin American markets, including one Orlando-based manager, one Brazil-based manager. Manage sales relationships with travel agencies, wholesalers, and tour operators. Coordinate with Universal Orlando marketing team in the planning and execution of PR, promotion, co-op advertising and other marketing strategies in South America.
Develop strategy and lead Orlando-based team to increase sales of UO product to inbound international visitors. Manage relationships with Latin American and European receptive operators. Ensure effective communication of UO product and enhance ticket sales opportunities in major Orlando-based international visitor touch points.
Coordinate various sales activities relative to all international markets, including trade shows, familiarization trips, and other hosted events.
Oversee the management of Asia-Pacific customer relationships and interact with UK sales office as appropriate.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in Marketing or Business required. MBA from an accredited institution would be a plus.
7-10 Years of sales and management experience within the hospitality industry is required.
Demonstrate strong influencing capabilities.
Demonstrate ability as a strong leader to a diverse team.
Demonstrate ability to share creative and new ideas.
High sense of urgency, creativity & flexible approach to handling international business opportunities.
Team building skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize & effectively manage multiple tasks/projects.
Self-motivated & adaptable to frequent changes in priorities & deadlines.
Able to communicate & interact with various management levels, across reporting lines & functions and lines of business.
Excellent communication skills including telephone, written & in face-to-face contact with clients.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
