Description
Job Summary
Primarily responsible for performing massages on guests.
Essential Job Functions
Comprehends and abides by Canyon Ranch policy and procedures.
Consistently clocks in and out as required by policy.
Provides guests with a thorough and knowledgeable 50 - 80 - or 100 minute professional massage.
Provides 50 – 80 or 100 minute cross–gender in-suite massage.
Provides on-site or off site chair massage.
Demonstrates respect, sensitivity, and concern for guests' needs with a professional and pleasant manner.
Practices universal health care protocol while dealing with guests and coworkers.
Is present for schedule and works any hours that are booked.
Arrives to work 20 minutes before shift begins and maintains promptness, starting massage services on time.
Wears proper uniform and is neat and well groomed.
Additional Duties
Complies with Massage Department policies.
Complies with Massage Department operational procedures.
Complies with Canyon Ranch Magnificent 7 standards.
Sets up and breaks down assigned massage room; maintains neat and well stocked room.
Completes and submits necessary paperwork, checks mailbox, and reads posted notices on bulletin board.
Attends monthly departmental meetings and workshops as directed.
Interacts cooperatively and with consideration towards guests and co-workers.
Exercises dependability and willingness to work with schedule flexibility.
Maintains physical fitness and participates in Canyon Ranch Assessment Program.
Participates in continuing education and maintains a minimum of 12 CEUs per year.
Performs other job-related duties as directed.
Adheres to Canyon Ranch standards for guest service.
Refers guest problems or complaints to supervisor according to Canyon Ranch guest problem resolution policy.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
Must possess a minimum of 500 hours of massage training from an AMTA accredited/approved massage school.
Must possess a cooperative and positive attitude, exercising reason.
Must have completed courses in anatomy and physiology from a college or AMTA accredited/approved massage school.
Must be able to perform a 50-minute and 80-minute comprehensive Swedish massage, using professional draping techniques; additional knowledge of other techniques is preferable.
Must be on schedule a minimum of 3 hours per day with a maximum of 5 hours in a row without a break (at discretion of administrator).
Must be able to interact professionally and with sensitivity to the needs of the guests and co-workers.
Must be dependable and able to adjust to schedule changes, including cancellations and additions.
Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
