Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Assist Controller in the financial management of all non-gaming finacials.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Assist with the management of all financial departments and functions of the Resort.
* Administers the property management and financial software programs.
* Assist with supervising finance and accounting staff personnel.
* Has management responsibility for GL, FA, Hotel accounting in accordance with GAAP.
* Implement and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
* Provide Resort Management with accurate and timely financial information.
* Compile and analyze financial information for Resort Operations.
* Responsible for coordinating implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out managerial and supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS
Analytical financial and accounting experience. Minimum 10 years accounting and 5 years management experience. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to read and analyze information detailing assets, liabilities and capital, and prepare P&L statements. Basic knowledge of accounting practices and principles. Skill in the use of PC and related software applications. Competent in the use of computer spreadsheets, database and mainframe applications in a Windows environment. Knowledge of federal and state tax laws. Ability to understand and process complex paperwork. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with the public and staff. Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Must possess a high regard for customer service and employee relations, with the ability to perform in fast paced and goal oriented environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business or comparable work experience plus ten years general accounting experience. Five years management experience required.
