Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Loews Annapolis Hotel, the only four diamond Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland is currently seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to oversee the maintenance team, building maintenance and grounds. The Hotel is a newly renovated 216 room property that boasts 17,000 square feet of function space, a full service restaurant and bar. Responsible for the overall operation of the Engineering Deparment to iensure that all systems are operated to standard, all property assets are constantly maintained to the highest level and all legally mandated Life Safety operating systems/criteria are communicated to all hotel personnel. Additional responsibilities include staffing, training, scheduling of employees; planning, organizing, directing and coordinating all engineering activities to ensure efficient operation of department and preparation of all required reports. Acts as a consultant to remainder of Executive Committee on all matter relating to facilities. This is an Executive Committee position and is eligible for all benefits under the Loews Corporation plan inclusive of low cost benefits, extensive vacation, 401k with match, salary continuance, tuition reimbursement programs, and a generous bonus program. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: *Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Engineering or related field of study is preferred *Certification as(or ability to obtain), CEOE, any Locally Mandated certifications *Five to Seven years experience as Chief Engineer in a Hospitality related environment *Extensive knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and life safety operating systems *Ability to read, interpret and maintain "as built status" of all physical plant architectural drawings *Knowledge of OSHA regulations, National, State and Local Building regulations and codes, equipment operation and preventive maintenance procedures, record keeping requirement associated with above *Strong management, leadership, organizational and communications skills *Knowledge of computer based maintenance management systems such as: OmniComp, Espresso *Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
